About this role:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Store Manager is required to have a thorough understanding of the industry, practical business fundamentals, and inventory management practices. This is a high-profile position with regular contact with the public and deals with complex customer service issues that often require mediation, diffusion, and correction with the ultimate goal of meeting or exceeding the needs of the customer.
The Store Manager guides other leaders to inspire top performance from their teams by providing leadership and direction to create a high-performing work environment that maximizes sales, controls costs through effective resource planning and inventory control, and maintains a high level of customer-centric focus.
The Store Manager seeks solutions and results that improve processes and surpass standards to drive the business in the BC Liquor Store. This position fosters growth amongst staff by providing coaching and encouragement with clear communications and builds success for the business by encouraging team members to consistently provide exceptional customer service and drive results. Successful completion of Serving It Right™ certification will be required prior to confirmation of any appointments of this position. Work is performed in a multi-shift retail operation. Successful candidates may be required to safely diffuse potentially dangerous or violent situations. This role may also require administrative and clerical duties; operating a cash register; lifting liquor cases up to 50 lbs to varying heights; and operating a variety of mechanical and hand-operated equipment.
A criminal record check is required.

*Recent experience is defined as occurring within the past 5 years.

- Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- A minimum of one year of recent experience* with 6 months supervisory experience in a customer-facing, service-oriented environment.
Preference may be given to those candidates with any of the following:
- Experience working in a retail or hospitality environment.
- Direct accountability for driving and achieving sales.
- Experience in an environment with annual sales in excess of $1 million.
- Experience with visual presentation standards and KPIs.
- Diploma or certificate in business, retail management OR courses in leadership/supervision.
